Learning to walk in suffering and God’s Glory

Text Romans 8:18-21; Hebrews 2:10-11

SUFFERING
Because of the fall (Genesis 3), there is suffering in this world, and everyone will taste it.Therefore, the best way to live is to decide to do good things, even if that will involve suffering. Jesus chose to suffer willingly and to die for our sins (Heb. 2:10-11). Good things are accomplished through suffering (e.g., Acts 14:22). God wants us to do good things, although we may not need them, others will need them. This revelation has changed my perception about life- a great motivation to do more for God. Please don’t suffer in vain. Choose to suffer for God’s kingdom, something that is worthwhile.

THE GLORY OF GOD
Manifestation of His presence, magnificence, holiness, and power God's glory tells the watching world that we are God's children. This is because they see the glory of God around us ( Acts 11:26). We don't have the glory, it is a gift from God (Romans 3:23-24) How to receive God’s glory: called, justified, and glorified (Romans 8:30). E.g, He gives a special garment to give us dignity and honour (Exodus 28:2; 40-41; 2 Cor 5:21). In justification, we received forgiveness of sins and cleansing (E.g, Zachariah 3:1-7; Rom 8:1-2). If you don't willingly stop sinning, God will allow you to sin until you are tired and either you come to Christ for forgiveness (David, Psalm 51; 32) or perish in your sins (e.g, Cain)

Walking in the glory of God (e.g. Isaiah 6:1-9).
Those who have experienced God’s glory are now His special chosen ones to do His will.

Conclusion
If you choose to do good things according to God’s will, you may suffer, but you shall surely be glorified by God. And if you decide not to do things according to God’s will, you will surely suffer and perish from the universe. Let us therefore choose the Way of the Cross.
